Initial Home Visit
INITIAL HOME VISIT or VIRTUAL
A home visit allows you to be in the comfort of your home, where you feel most at ease and relaxed. In this private and safe space, I will assess mom, infant and the two of you together. Initial appointments vary in time depending on the number of questions and feeding challenges. Estimated time: 60-120 minutes.
Consultation includes:
- Breastfeeding education, support and empowerment
- Maternal health history and physical assessment
- Birth assessment
- Infant oral and physical assessment
- Assessment of latch and positioning
- Infant weight
- Pre & Post feeding weight to measure milk transfer
- Recommendations for breastfeeding challenges
- Education on breast pumps
- Returning to work or school
- Recommendations for referrals to bodywork or frenectomy care
- Individualized plan of care
- Super bill for potential insurance reimbursement
- A detailed report will be faxed to your & baby’s primary care providers (typically, your obstetrician/midwife & your baby's pediatrician).

- Current home visit clients have unlimited phone/text/email support
- I am happy to take calls 7 days a week from 8 am- 8pm. After hours you may leave a voice mail & I'll will get back to you the next morning.
- At any time, if it is an emergency, call your health care provider or 911.
- You may text or email at any time and I will respond as soon as able, which may not be until the next business day. Email is more secure than texting and I am mandated to protect any communications as confidential under HIPAA law.
